Francesco Caiazza

I am Francesco Caiazza, a portrait photographer based in Les Corts (Barcelona). My practice stems from a fascination with humanity and the power of the portrait to freeze the unrepeatable: that moment when an emotion becomes visible. I work from the conviction that an image can transform how we see ourselves and connect us more deeply with others. My approach is built around two complementary axes: professional portraiture and therapeutic/participatory photography. In portrait sessions I seek honesty and presence: studio or outdoor sessions designed to generate calm, trust, and results that work both for personal portraits and professional uses (CV photo, LinkedIn). I do not pursue forced poses — my method is conversational and kind; in the first minutes I create an atmosphere that allows authenticity to emerge so the portrait reflects who you are here and now. Therapeutic photography, which I also offer in one-to-one sessions and workshops, treats the image as a tool for self-knowledge. After training at Instituto 8 in Barcelona, I designed experiential processes in which photography facilitates introspection, creativity, and emotional expression. I offer group workshops and online laboratories where, through practical exercises and shared reflection, participants explore their subjectivity and generate new possibilities for personal vision. I work with sensitivity and field experience: personal projects such as “Cuento de un tejido humano”, “White is beautiful” and “Anima Maris” are born from my practice and nourish my portrait outlook. I also collaborate with participatory initiatives (FotoVoz) aimed at young people and community groups, facilitating processes where photography becomes a voice and a tool for change.
